The application process

The application process involves a written application via our website, in which you will need to provide us with a copy of your current resume and a copy of your passport or student ID.

The applications will then be assessed and shortlisted applicants will be invited to a face-to-face interview with a Macquarie staff member.

We will consider your skills, interests and experience and allocate you to a partner organisation and activity that is the best fit for you. If successful, you will be provided with details of your allocated activity, country and partner organisation in an offer letter to join the program.

All activities are dependent on the needs of our international partner organisations, as well as the social, political and environment context of the host country. As such, it is vitally important that you apply early and remain flexible and open-minded. Occasionally (in extreme circumstances) an activity may be cancelled or postponed.

Student nominated activities

PACE International offers the opportunity for you to find your own international activity. Once approved, PACE International will support you by offering pre-departure training and travel grant support, if applicable.
Please note that there are some restrictions on travel to certain countries based on official travel advice from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. As a general rule, PACE International does not approve PACE activities in countries listed on the Smart Traveller website (link) as "Reconsider your need to travel" or "Do not travel". Travel to countries listed as "High degree of caution" will require a detailed risk assessment before your activity will be approved. As such, keep in mind that you need to start the assessment and approval process at least 3 months in advance of your desired start date.
